RUNFIT KIDZ 5K!

Fall RunFit Kidz Virtual 2020 Celebration Run 


As much as we would have loved to see each of you in person at our 2020 Celebration Run it will not be possible due to restrictions as well as for the safety of each our runners, family members, coaches and staff.  However, your virtual event will still be an EVENT!  Below are directions on how to create an account

to upload your child's finish time as well as ways to make the RunFit Kidz Virtual 5K something your child and you will remember.

Please complete your 5K between Nov. 14th - Nov 22nd so that you may upload your time to Potomac Runners Website (see below for details)

You choose the time that works best for you.


Cost: 
All RunFit Kidz participants will receive tshirt, medal and race bib as part of their $90 fee.  


T-Shirt: 
T-shirt for our RunFit Kidz will be delivered to the last class.  No parent t-shirts are being offered this season.


Bib Numbers:
Bib Numbers will not include chip timing devices unless a LIVE event is scheduled.  


Posting Time Portal:  It is very important that you create your account as soon as possible - this will allow you to easily upload your child's 5K time on the day they complete the distance.  Here are the step by step instructions.  

How to Upload 5K Finish Times:
To post your child's results, you will need to create an account with PR Races – our host race management company.  There will be no fee to add your child. This will simply allow you to create a family account and then after your child completes the 5K, you will be able to upload their times.  While this is not required – uploading your child’s time will allow you to download a finishers certificate at the end.

Instructions on how to create an account and post results: 
1. Go to the PR Races home page and log in (email address and password) - you will create an account when you register your child. Here’s the link:   https://potomac.enmotive.com/events/register/b850b4b8-846c-42e7-b86d-ad416c044e6d 
2. When it is time to post the 5K results click on MY ACCOUNT and scroll to find the race name
3. Click on the blue ACTION button and then submit Log Result 

4. You may create the account immediately.  It is highly recommended you take this step ahead of time so that there is no delay in posting your child’s time.

5. The ability to post 5K finish times will be open beginning Saturday, November 14th – Sunday, November 22nd.  So yes, you have all week to schedule your 5K and get it completed.

Packet Pick-up: 
Will be delivered to last class.  If you are unable to attend the last class please email your coach to schedule a time to pick-up your child's packet.  

How do I make this a memorable event? 

1. Set a distinct time/day that you plan to have your child run the 5K.  That will help with the excitement. 
2. Plan the route out for the 5K with your child ahead of time.  You can use gmaps, www.gmap-pedometer.com or www.mapmyrun.com are just a few ideas.  Or you can consider using a track at one of the local high schools - 4 laps = 1mile - so if you complete 12 laps you have 3miles (and add 1/10th😊)! 
3. Wear your RunFit Kidz t-shirt on race day! 
4. Hand the medal at the end of the 5K when they crosse the “finish line”! 
5. Let our RFK staff know when/where you will be running - we may be able to show up and cheer you on. 
6. Hook up with a RFK teammate and plan the event together 
7. Get the family involved.  During this time of social distancing - this is an easy way to keep a distance while maybe having extended family sit in the stands at the high school or underneath a tree while your little one does a lap.  Or even the neighbors may want to come out and cheer on the runners.   
8. Is your route mostly laps around a neighborhood?  Great – create a water stop! 
9. Make posters to hold up to cheer them on as they go by or grab some noisemakers from the dollar store.

I am sure many of you have wonderful ideas of how to create a fun event and I have no doubt it will be an amazing 5K no matter how you choose to celebrate.  Please do tag your awesome 5K Finisher picture @RunFitKidz to Instagram.  All pictures posted will be entered into a drawing for some fun items – some prizes:  RFK running hat, t-shirt, sweatshirt and maybe even a free entry into next seasons class!!!  Do not miss out – be sure to tag us and be entered to win.
