Coach Stites grew up watching her dad run the George Washington Memorial Trail. She first joined him at the age of 10, and continues to frequent the trail as an adult. She loves for her kids (ages 3 and 5) to join her for runs. They keep her going with antics such as “we’re not running very fast” and “we’re not even tired yet”, awhile she pushes them in the Bob.
Native to Alexandria, Rebecca attended Waynewood Elementary, Carl Sandberg Middle School, and West Potomac High school. She earned her Bachelors of Science from Virginia Tech. Rebecca is a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine with a specialization in Fitness Nutrition, and is also a Nutrition Consultant and Coach for the global wellness company, Isagenix.
In addition to running, Rebecca enjoys cross-training through cycling and her favorite gym classes- Body Pump, Body Step and 360. Her favorite race is the George Washington 10 miler Classic, but she enjoys various local road races throughout the year, and plans on completing her second triathlon this fall.
Outside of the nutrition and fitness world, Rebecca is a dedicated Animal Conservationist. She earned her Masters from George Mason University while studying Zoological Collections Management, and takes care of a variety of animal species at the National Zoo (specializing in the care of African lions and bobcats).
